Proposition 65

This warning applies to California residents. Certain listed chemicals like lead are widely distributed throughout the environment in air, soil, water, and rocks. As a result, these types of chemicals are often naturally found in commonly eaten foods, even though these chemicals are not intentionally added

Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive toxicity are present in dietary supplements, nutritional food powders, juice beverages, common grocery items (i.e. coffee, fried and baked goods). These chemicals are not added to the products but are naturally occurring in many of the starting raw materials (ingredients) and/or results from the processing (cooking) of these products.

The amount of a chemical that would trigger a Prop 65 warning is much lower than what would be concerning by other agencies like the FDA, the EAP. It is a well-known fact that Prop 65 has spawned lawsuits against several thousand companies that distribute, store, manufacture or sell products containing Prop 65 chemicals. These lawsuits in some cases with no merit, have presented costly challenges to defend against opportunist individuals taking advantage of regulations mandated by Prop 65.
